Howdy! I’m Chip Schweiger, The Cowboy Accountant™, and I sure am glad you’re here to join me on this journey through the American West, the cowboy way of life, and the stories of those who are living it.

I’m a full-time CPA and a part-time cowboy, and when I’m not practicing accounting in my own CPA firm, I can usually be found horseback on my Hancock-bred mare, Whiskey

CPA and cowboying?

You might be asking yourself why a CPA would start a podcast about cowboys? Well, in my professional travels from the horse country of California, to Texas, to the vast open ranges of Colorado and Wyoming, through Utah and Nevada, and back home to Texas again, I have been fortunate to learn about the unique history of the American West.

The more I learned about the men and women who work the ranches of the American West, the more I learned about the true ideals of the American cowboy: a celebration of the western way of life, the positive impact the ways of the cowboy can have on modern society, a recognition of the authentic partnership between a horse and rider, and the common bond of mankind coming together around these ideals.

Cowboy is a state of mind

When I talk about cowboys, it’s either about the cowboys of the old west or the cowboys and cowgirls of today. You see, cowboy is a state of mind of authenticity and grit and compassion. And, in a world that needs more cowboys, I use the term as a compliment to the men and women I am fortunate to encounter.

All of this with the hope that together we can continue to preserve, protect, and promote the legacy of the working cowboy and our unique western heritage.

I’m very honored to have you here, mi amigo, and I hope you’ll ride with me.
